Sir Malcolm - Dan Foss
With over 30 years of jousting experience, Dan Foss is the owner of Equus Nobilis. He has jousted all over North America as well as doing a stint in China.

Lady Rayka- Rosalie Purvis
When she was just 12, Rosalie began squiring for the joust show at the St. Louis Renaissance Festival(StLRF). Now, with over 20 years of riding experience she has performed at numerous faires, and loves to joust!

Sir Duncan - Preston Murchison
Sir Duncan- Preston Murchison has been performing as an actor and musician at Renaissance festivals since 1996 and had been jousting since 2004. Preston loves combining theatrical and equestrian talents and continues to learn in both disciplines. He also loves the commraderie shared with his fellow knights, the squires, and (of course) the horses!

Sir - Tristan - Al Morales
AL has been riding horses for over half his life and jousting for about a decade and all over the United States. He’s now settled in Florida with his awesome wife Noelle and dog Cooper D. Dog. He’s happy to be back in the saddle with Equus Nobilis.

Sir Roderick - Billy Brooks
His father was a Dutch cobbler His mother a farmer . He grew up on an Eastern sloped meadow . They had cows and cheese….and the rest is a mystery.

Sir Gavin - Dan Ott
Dan has a degree in theatre and has been jousting off and on since 2015. He's ridden at ren faires in St. Louis, Tampa, Orlando, Scarborough, Brevard, and Pennsylvania, as well as in the Tournament of Kings show at the Excalibur hotel in Las Vegas. Dan is elated to join Equus Nobilis!

Vlad - Steve Nelson
Steve joined Danny in 2017 at the St. Louis Renaissance Festival. He has donned red and black and been a staple on our fields in STLRF and other shows.

Sir Leon - John Cleary
John is a KC native who learned to joust in 2013. He has been hanging on for dear life ever since. When he is not in the saddle with Equus Nobilis you can catch him on stages around the midwest singing, dancing, and making a spectacle of himself. Or, if you happen to be a middle schooler, you might just catch him in a classroom near you playing the part of "Rapidly Aging History Teacher #3".

Sir Warwick - Jon Boeger
Jon has been a Knight Marshall since 2017 and began Jousting in 2022. He has been a stage combat performer since 2000 and an instructor and fight director since 2016. Jon has performed with Equus Nobilis at St Louis, Kansas City, Bluffwoods, and Tampa as well as performing at many other renaissance festivals and stages around the mid-west.

Sir Markus - Mark Harris
Markus Harris has been a professional actor, fight choreographer, and theatrical stunt performer since 1987, performing in scores of stage productions and hundreds of outdoor theatrical shows during his career. He has served as squire, actor/combatant, jouster, Assistant Director, Director, Artistic Director, scriptwriter, fight choreographer, joust trainer, horse trainer, and special effects show consultant, writing, directing and choreographing joust shows throughout the USA. He has served as Horsemaster for no less than four theatrical joust companies.

Sir Arthur - Mark Fossey
Mark Fossey began jousting in 1996. He is well known at many renaissance festivals across the country including the Colorado, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Silverleaf, Door County, St Louis, Kansas City, Scarborough, Florida and Pittsburgh faires. Mark is also a professional musician.

Patrick has been jousting off and on since 2015 and we are always happy to have him on the field.

Sir Angus - Paul Adams
Paul has been around the ren faire circuit for many, many years. We are thrilled whenever he wants to come cross swords with us!

The Dragon - Dave Dragun
Dave has been a jouster for many years and is also a professional stuntman. We are thankful he brings his talent to our shows and his good nature to our backstage.

Emy has been around Danny Foss for two decades and is a fierce ground fighter and started jousting in 2023.

Sir Levi - James Grant
James is a lifelong Missourian who had the good fortune of joining Equus Nobilis via the Saint Louis Renaissance Festival. He has been riding horseback since childhood and now has over a decade of equestrian experience in a variety of disciplines. James is also an artist with skills in costume creation, design, prop-making, and narrative arts. The arena is a new and exciting challenge for him, and he can't wait to prove his valor on the field!

Natalia has been a part of the crew for years, based in Farmington, MO. She’s never met a task she cannot complete and is always adding to her skills on and off the field.

Sir Robert - Zachary Minder
Zach began his jousting career in 2015. He has jousted as Sir Robert, King Henry VIII, and Don Roberto. Equus Nobilis is the 3rd company he has worked with, and he is honored to share a field with them.

Sir Balin - Nate McCormack
Sir Balin has ridden the lengths and breathes of the land for over a decade, competing in jousting tournaments against the greatest of knights and the worst of scoundrels. It is said that the hooves of his mighty steed sound of Thunder, while his sword flashes like lightning. Sir Balin is always ready for a fight! But he also enjoys quiet evenings with his lovely lady, the Beast of Cormack.

Sir Roland - Dan McClelland
Sir Roland (aka Dan) has been riding horses his whole life. He grew up riding and competing in the state of Pennsylvania. He has been jousting for over 10 years for multiple different companies, and has performed around the country in Colorado, Pennsylvania, Michigan, St Louis, Scarborough, and Florida and many more faires. Dan also has experience in endurance racing as well as an Arabian racing circuit, jumping, has dabbled trick riding, vaulting and Roman riding!

Christopher Preyer
Christopher Preyer is a life long performer, and a student of historical European martial arts for the past fourteen years. He obtained his bachelors in theater from Gordon College in 2012, where he was trained in classical and contemporary theater. He began studying at Baer Swords School of Western Martial Arts in 2016, learning the art of the longsword, saber, Scottish singlestick, spear, rapier, smallsword, dagger, sword-and-buckler, kali sticks, Irish stick, and messer; as well as taking high honors in tournaments across the country. In 2022 he began training with Ronin Stunt Company. In 2023 he became a member of Equus Nobilis, bringing his theatrical, martial arts, and stunt backgrounds all together, and is excited to bring the highest quality of entertainment available.

Olivia Franklin
Olivia has been performing on and off on cast at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival since 2015. In 2016 she joined the jousting crew as a Squire. She had a lot of fun and learned a lot. After 2016 she went back to cast, but then decided to take a break from faire and focus more on theatre. She has been performing in the theatre community around the Kansas City area since 2019. During the 2023 season Olivia realized how much she really missed being at the joust and decided to join the show again and she is very glad that she did, working with this crew is such a blast and everyone is such good friends!

Anna Stephens
Anna has been going to the Kansas City Renaissance festival since she was a kid, and has always enjoyed being around horses. So, in 2016 she decided to run away to the fair. Since then she has been a squire for the company, even coming back on occasion when she lived across the country. While being a squire she has enjoyed learning new skills and knowledge from the many people she has come to meet, and hopes to continue learning for many years to come.

Carrie Cupples
Running away from the French court, pursuing a life of adventure, Carrie traded in her fancy dresses and jewels for horses and jousts. She always felt a calling towards the performing arts. From dance to acting Carrie has been performing all her life. In 1999 Carrie joined the cast of the St. Louis Renaissance Faire. She has played many roles in the lanes but most of her time was in the Court. Where she played a French Duc and her longest role as King Francois’s sister, Margaret. In 2021 she left the shiny for the dusty and joined Equus Nobilis. She has stage combat experience and enjoys working with the horses. She is looking to increase her horsemanship and combat skills.

Lady Ana de Toledo - Erica Thompson
Erica joined STLRF cast in 2018 as a stage combatant, but made the jump to EN as a squire in 2021. She always had dreams of being Knight Marshall. In 2022, she worked with Sir Vlad to learn the show and make those dreams a reality. Now a full time Knight Marshall, she enjoys nothing more than putting on the best show she can for the crowds, with the best group of people in Equus Nobilis.

Jessi Troester (Squire Sorcha)
Jessi has been a dancer, musician, and performer for as long as she can remember. She started squiring for the joust at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival in 2017. In between jousts, she can often be found telling traditional Scottish folktales and performing on the bagpipes as part of the Living History Program. In her spare time, she attempts to teach math to high schoolers.

Russell Gummelt
Russell serves as a squire for Equus Nobilis. If you give him a stick, a rock, and whatever else you have laying around, he can fabricate just about anything. If you need something built, fixed, or simply improved, Mad Jack” will find a way.

Emma Dillon
A transplant from Oklahoma City, Emma started with the Kansas City Ren Fest in 2023, and quickly became enamored with the joust. Her two greatest loves in life, taking care of horses and wearing cool outfits, lend themselves to her role as squire. When not retrieving lances and runaway steeds, she is most likely watching Vanderpump Rules.

Sir Arden of Mead
Arden, or True, has served and fought with Equus Nobilis for many moons — about 6 years. Rumored to have originated from the far lands that existed before time (The Shakespeare Festival St. Louis). Since that bygone era, he has traveled twixt Faire and Festival across the wide ranges of America in search for a foe that can best him in combat, or a healthily sized meal. Whichever comes first.
